HAIRbow

You told me this morning you wanted a hair bow just like Minnie Mouse & Daisy Duck. I didn't want to let you wear your hair out because I'm trying to do protective styles on you. You are starting pre-school in 11 days (I can't believe it) and I really want your hair to be healthy because I have a feeling you will be wearing your hair out a lot at school. I'm also trying to grow your hair. So, instead of letting you wear your hair out with a bow, I decided to make a bow out of your hair. This style is pretty popular right now, especially among celebrities, so I was easily able to learn how to do it on Youtube.

I pulled your hair on top of your head into a side ponytail. I wrapped the ouchless band around your hair 3 times. On the 4th time I didn't pull your hair all the way through. So you had like a little loop of hair and about 1 1/2 inches of hair left out.

So I split the 'loop' in half. Then I took the hair that was left out and smoothed it between the 2 sections of the 'loop'. Most people use bobby pins to hold the hair in place, but I didn't want to damage your hair while pinning it so I just tucked the hair back into the ponytail holder. I applied E.V.O.O to the ends before I tucked them in for some extra moisture.

Here are the pictures.

It's a little bitty bow but it's cute and you told me you loved it! In the second picture you were eating a popsicle and you had been playing so your hair was already getting fuzzy. This style lasted about 30 minutes.
We took it down and did something else. Maybe we'll try this again when your hair is a little longer and thicker!
